This view of the same bridge is taken from below. It seems almost incredible that the slender arch stretching from shore to shore could uphold the Wright above it and the train which is seen approaching on the left. And yet closer inspection will reveal that this slender arch is a massive steel affair the strength of which for sustaining great loads is almost inconceivable.
