The Cantilever bridge

The Cantilever Bridge was the second bridge of its kind to be erected in the United States. It was seven months and a half in building and was competed December 1. 1883. Its total length is 910 feet, and is supported on steel towers which rise 130 feet from the piers on either side. The bridge is owned and operated by the Michigan Central Railroad.
