12 Prospect Point

Prospect Point

No view of the American Fall is so terrifying as that obtained by standing on Prospect Point, a jutting rock which is perched on the very brink of the American Fall. Not five feet away is the brink of the Fall, over which the waters pour in resistless might. [b]The whole sweep of the cataract’s brink is visible from this point. There has never been an accident here, though more than one mortal, tired of life or fascinated by the sight, has the sight, has sought death by leaping into the flood. A stout iron encircles Prospect Point, which is a part of Prospect Park, a beautiful spot containing about ten acres.
