Picture 34 - Fritton Lake.

FRITTON LAKE. Six miles from Yarmouth is Fritton, beautiful charming Fritton, one of the prettiest nooks in Suffolk, with its lovely lake, its pretty church, and famous „Old Hall.“ The beauty of this delightful spot is difficult to express. It is land-locked, and can only be reached by road. The lake is very large, being, with „mill-waters,“ nearly three miles in length. Fritton Lake is shut in nearly all round by trees, many of them very old. The water in some parts is very deep, while other spots are only six or seven feet deep, with a gravelly, hard bottom, free from weeds.
